While picking up some shipping supplies at the local drug store, I slowed down as I passed the office supply isle.
I can't help it.
With Dad in and out of port (more out) the next year and a half, I'm looking for special things that Antonio and I can do together.
Julia keeping me pretty busy, I don't get as much one on one time as I used to.
When I spotted a composition note book, remembered my girlfriend telling me she had her kids journal last year and what a fun time they had with it.
He's also been having a hard time at school lately. He gets frustrated more easily when Dad leaves.
As blogging for me keeps me on the lookout for fun things to write about, I thought that journaling for him could do the same.
Tonight, after dinner asked him to pick crayons or pens (pens) and showed him the composition book.
At first he was upset, because he says he haaates writing!
As I explained that he didn't necessarily have to write, but he could draw something about his day and then he could tell me a few things about his day and I'd write it for him.
He wanted to know why, and I said that maybe Dad would like to read about what goes on from his perspective while he's gone. Or maybe it would be nice at the end of the day to reflect on the nice things that happened.
He sat down, and drew a picture of him sitting doing homework at school.
Then he told me about birds that migrate and a turtle that wanted to as well, but it ended up discovering what it was good at, chomping sticks, and the turtle ended up being okay accepting that he wasn't a flying animal.
I can't help it.

That's cool, journaling is always a good thing.
