something de Mayo
Antonio came home with this crafty little pinata on Friday. After putting his backpack away for the weekend, he forgot about it, until Monday morning when he was getting ready for school.
I'm not that mom that does candy for breakfast every morning, we'd just had the last few peeps for breakfast Saturday, so we agreed to wait until after school.
He said we needed a rope so it could dangle, and I scoffed at the idea, meh, I'll just hold it for you. Then armed him with a wooden spoon, told him to close his eyes, turn around three times and start swinging. As the wood spoon came whipping at the bag, and my fingers, I quickly changed the plan.
Eyes open,
Please, please, please aim for the bottom of the bag.

Thankfully he listened.
Julia got her turn too, in fact it took a few turns each to get the bag broken open.
Once the candy and confetti hit the floor, they scooped it up like little rodents and scurried off to the couch to feast on smarties.
Next year, I think a rope is a good plan...
