Mass Distraction

While The Man is away kids and I will play

Today it was almost 75 degrees out!

It was so sunny and beautiful outside, it almost hurt to be inside my windowless building all day.
As soon as we were home, we bee lined for the garage fridge where I knew a few popsicles were left over from last summer.
They were a bit soft, but they were cold and fruity.

I received a call from daycare around lunchtime today.
Julia had been holding a little plastic gorilla and had been running and fell.
When she fell, gorilla's feet rudely cut through her lip.

I went to check her out, and decided since it went through her lip, it wouldn't hurt to have a professional check it out.
Off to the local ER for an afternoon visit we went. Julia was mad to have to leave just as they were getting ready to go outside and play.

We waited, Julia took a little nap, and after a while the PA came in checked her out, cleaned the cut a bit and put a dab of antibiotic cream on it and called it good.
You know, the funny part is them writing gorilla feet in her medical chart.

This is after dinner, she does have a little gorilla abrasion on her chin too.

Gramma keeps peanuts in a basket near the back door to feed the visiting squirrels.
We try and keep it up out of someone's reach.
Just yesterday Gramma bought a new bag of peanuts to refill the basket.
Someone decided that she needed some help liberating the peanuts from their bag.
Maybe she was setting up an Easter buffet for the squirrels.

Antonio's ears were left at the scene, I think she was trying to frame him.
This weekend, since Dad was out to sea, we packed up and headed over to Gramma's house.
We assured the littles that the Easter Bunny would be able to track them down.

And the Bunny did.

Julia did a few practice egg hunts at daycare on Friday, so she knew exactly what to do.

Once Antonio's basket was pretty well filled, he stopped to help his sister find a few.

All the eggs are found, it's time to go in.

Julia made this bunny at school Friday, it was filled with eggs from their egg hunt.

The ears are my favorite part.

This afternoon while Julia napped, we decorated eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide.
Gramma was a wealth of tips and tricks of the trade.

Antonio made some great ones.

With Easter just around the corner, I finally remembered to crawl up in the attic and get down the Easter cack box.
I set out the wire tree and the egg ornaments for it, so we could decorate it after school.
Antonio got to go into work with Dad, and had some extra time so he decorated it for us.
He did a fantastic job.

Julia spotted it right away and snuck in to investigate
But you know, didn't touch or anything, don't look at her hands, okay?

She had to go back for seconds.

Behold the power of two.
Antonio has way more artistic staying power now that he has someone his size doing it too.
Julia only tried to eat one bite, but decided yellow wasn't as good as she thought it might be.

Antonio custom made pizzas for everyone.

Springtime means the weeds are cropping up in my yard.

Okay, fine...
We're fencing in the back yard. Julia is too quick and I'd like to actually, I dunno, relax in the back yard some days after work. The Man is leaving out to sea again so we spent the afternoon putting the longer section up. Neighbors on two sides of us already have their own fence, so we just have to take care of one bigger side and one little.

The kids were endless in their help, and kept us from getting too into our projects.

Wouldn't you know she already has started devising her master plan of escape.
